About ARTBOURNE
An exhibition with a cause
ARTBOURNE has always been about more than the exhibition itself.
By bringing together artists, collectors, families and the wider community, the event raises funds for the Wellesley College Foundation Scholarship programme -helping boys from families experiencing financial hardship access a Wellesley education they may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience.
Every ticket purchased and every artwork that finds a new home contributes to that wider purpose, allowing the impact of ARTBOURNE to continue well beyond the four days of the exhibition.
A different way to experience art
For four days this November, Wellesley College becomes a temporary gallery, with original work taking over spaces across the school.
The exhibition is carefully curated to bring together established names and emerging talent, giving visitors the opportunity to encounter artists and work they may already know alongside something completely new.
Come with a particular piece in mind, come to meet the artists, or simply come for the pleasure of spending time surrounded by original work.
ARTBOURNE is designed to be explored at your own pace - considered, welcoming and shaped by its unique Days Bay setting.
Wellesley College, Days Bay
The setting is part of the ARTBOURNE experience.
Wellesley sits between Wellington Harbour and the bush in Days Bay, just a short walk from the wharf and looking back across the water towards the city.
During ARTBOURNE, familiar school spaces are transformed into an exhibition environment that feels a world away from a traditional gallery.
Come across by ferry, spend some time in the bays and make a day of it.
